Day 2
Buongiorno! Arrive into the “Eternal City” of Italy and begin your Italian adventure with a guided bus tour. Check into your hotel then board the metro to really discover, see, touch and taste the beauty of Roma. Later enjoy your first real Italian feast. Buon Appetito!
Day 3
Start your day following in the path of Caesar by exploring Ancient Rome, from the Colosseum to the famous Forum, where you see the Arch of Titus, the Palatine Hill, the Arch of Constantine and the Mamertime Prison. Then over to the Pantheon with it's famous portico, the Piazza Navona, the Trevi Fountain and later the Spanish Steps, a favorite amongst students worldwide.
Day 4
Rome is not complete without a grand tour of the Vatican City. Here, St. Peter's Basilica is without a doubt the grandest of churches. You will discover the beauty of the Pieta, the breathtaking interior work of Bernini and then the incredibly restored Sistine Chapel. Enjoy your night last in Rome, throw 3 coins in the fountain and do not forget the Gelato!!
Day 5
An early morning transfer will take you to Florence, home of the Renaissance and the Italian language. Your guided day tour will include the Duomo, Giottos Bell Tower and the Bapistry with its amazing Bronze doors. Also walk though the many wonderful Piazzas and over the famous Ponte Vecchio Bridge. Next, the amazing Science Museum and the home of Galileo's telescopes, compasses tools and his finger!
Day 6
Morning tour of the Galleria dell' Accademia and home of Michelangelo's David, the world's most famous statue. Afternoon, spend time at the Medici Chapel and the San Lorenzo Market. Enjoy your evening at the Piazza della Repubblica, once a Roman Forum and now alive with musicians, artists and cafes.
Day 7
Early transfer to Venice, a city built on water where you will be in awe of it's labyrinth of canals, streets, squares, palaces and churches during your guided walking tour.
Day 8
Tour St. Marks Square, the Doges Palace and the Basilica. Ride the Vaporetto, a bus boat, cruise the Grand Canal and see the Rialto Bridge, built in 1591.
Day 9
Visit the island of Murano, famous for its glass factories. Visit the Glass Museum with over 700 years of Venetian glassmaking and see the art itself in progress. Continue on to the island of Burano, well known for its small brightly painted homes and made famous in the 16th century for its lace work. Savor your last day in Italy by enjoying the cafes, markets and squares.
